The Tsingy Rouges, located in the Diana region, in the north of Madagascar, are a unique natural wonder in the world. These formations are made up of sandstone, laterite and clay, giving the landscapes spectacular reddish hues.
Course of the excursion
The excursion generally begins from the hotel with a 4×4 journey of around 2 hours through sometimes rough tracks. Along the way, visitors pass through landscapes of savannah, dry forests and traditional Malagasy villages.
On arrival, a short path leads to the different viewpoints over the Tsingy Rouges. Erosion from wind and water has sculpted these formations into surprisingly fragile peaks and needles, creating a fascinating natural spectacle, particularly at sunrise or sunset, when the light accentuates the shades of red and ocher.
